Casino coming to Glasgow Station? - 2004-02-12
A huge casino, bar, nightclub and restaurant complex could be constructed under one of Scotland's biggest and most historic railway stations, it was reported yesterday. Developers may transform the space below Glasgow Central station, which was used by a car and van rental firm and a car park company, into a large entertainment facility.

Launched in 1879, the station was expanded between 1901 and 1906 and is now a listed establishment. Rather than detracting from the region, a casino complex could aid in restoring the architectural fortunes of the waterfront area.

CSFB wants profit growth, but curbs take a chance on appetite - 2004-02-12
Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) will shun high-stakes market wagers in spite of setting its sights on growth instead of cost-cutting in the year ahead, the investment bank's Chief Executive John Mack said on Thursday.

Mack declared that the investment banking arm of Credit Suisse Group (CSGN) would not go back to "big casino" risk-taking.
