Nevada Casinos' Gambling Winnings Indicate A Decrease - 2004-02-13
In spite of the economic turnaround and a return of leisure travelers, December was not a very fortunate month for Nevada's casinos, information dislcosed Wednesday by the Nevada Control Board showed.
He stated slot performance was raised slightly, while there was a major decline in the sports pool win, down 67 percent, or $12 million, from the year prior.

Total winnings from the countries slots, on the other hand, were up 2.5 percent from the year before on increasing volume, although even slot play stayed slightly below pre-Sept. 11 levels.

Commission wants clarity on casino tax measures - 2004-02-13
The state Tax Commission wants lawmakers to "clear up the law" on whether the agency has the right to calculate casino tax bills and to determine whether free-play credits casinos offer gamblers are taxable.

In 2000, Beau Rivage, following the lead of Las Vegas casinos, started providing free-play credits to slot machine gamblers, who could use the credits to enjoy slots at no cost.
