Series puts fiscal sights on females - 2004-02-13
The Women's Foundation, ever mindful of advancing women ahead, is presenting a luncheon series to spread the word.
Gayle Rose, president of the Rose Family Foundation, will talk during the first event, noon Tuesday at Union Planters Bank, 6200 Poplar.

After a run of difficult years, the better solution is enhanced marketing, according to Cotton Inc., which is providing "Hedging With Options for Cotton Producers" from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 25 at Grand Casino in Tunica.

Long weekend intended to spice up local business - 2004-02-13
Presidents Day weekend will introduce bowlers to downtown Reno, skiers to the Sierra and lovers to the Washoe County Court House.
“This is the traditional kickoff to our busy season,” explained Gary Carano, general manager of Reno’s Silver Legacy Resort Casino. “You’ve got Presidents Day, with Valentine’s Day on top of it.”

It’s a convergence of natural and man-made activities that could end in big crowds at ski resorts and casinos, in addition to an extended line at the courthouse.
