Female gamers are growing up - 2004-02-13
Moms may be competing with their kids for computer time, but not for work or home related chores. Research from America Online (AOL) has found that women over 40 years old spend the most time weekly playing Internet games at 9.1 hours, which represents for 41 percent of their connection time.
Word and puzzle games were widely popular with the women over 40, with 49 percent favoring them instead of casino (27 percent), arcade (16 percent), trivia (7 percent), and sports (1 percent) games.

Primary attendance may be highest in decades - 2004-02-13
Wisconsin's top election official stated that voter turnout in Wisconsin's new, earlier presidential primary may hit 40 percent, the highest for a presidential primary in the state in over 20 years.
Adding to the furor is a referendum in Dane County on whether to permit the Ho-Chunk Nation to turn its Madison bingo hall into a complete casino.

"It's as hot a set of issues as we've had at this time of year in a very long time," explained University of Wisconsin-Madison political science Professor Don Kettl.
