Horseshoe Reimbursement Deal - 2004-02-13
The Binion's family casino, The Horseshoe, closed last month; laying off thousands of workers. The casino is offering to reimburse some of those former workers for "out of pocket" medical expenses. But the way the agreement reads, the employees also sacrifice some of their rights.

"I was happy. I thought this money was gone for good. I'd written it off." Former Binion worker Don Kinnaman felt lucky to get a letter.

Castaways employment trade fair - 2004-02-13
The Culinary Union and the Nevada Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation and other regional agencies are coordinating to provide assistance to the unemployed Castaways employees.

Former Castaways workers will be assessed and assisted with their job search, training and placement. Employees should carry their picture ID, Social Security card, last pay-stubs, and letters of lay-off if available.
