Sinking New Orleans riverboat attempts to revive fortunes - 2004-02-13
Bally's riverboat casino, placed at the bottom of the New Orleans casino market, is attempting a new marketing campaign in anticipation of bolstering its flagging fortunes.

Beginning Feb. 20, the casino will "loosen" its slot machines to return a higher amount of gambled money and will advertise itself more vigorously in hopes of cutting into its rivals' business, claim executives with the casino's proprietor, Caesars Entertainment Inc.

Gambling Measure Would Stop Required Cruises - 2004-02-13
House members revealed the highlights of a broad gambling expansion measure that could permit up to five new riverboat licenses in the state, lift cruising requirements for riverboat casinos and authorize table games at racetracks.

Those who want to construct casinos on constructed lakes demonstrated relief the legislation would permit riverboat casinos to be situated on man-made lakes and reservoirs.
