Proposal aims for casino revenues - 2004-02-14
A campaign that will target 25 percent of American Indian gaming revenues to compensate for more police, firefighters and child protective services statewide is producing momentum — and could generate millions for Nevada County.

The Gaming Revenue Act of 2004 is one of four initiatives that are targeted towards tribal casinos and are being prepared for the November ballot.

Missing Newark man returns home after eight months in Atlantic City - 2004-02-14
Close to eight months following his disappearance on a casino trip to Atlantic City, a 56-year-old man undergoing treatment for dementia was reunited with his wife last week.

"I looked all over the place," Leggett stated. "I went to different casinos up and down the Boardwalk, the area where you wait for the bus - back and forth, back and forth."
