Region's casinos see major crowds, not major crimes - 2004-02-15
July 8, 2001: A woman provided a man she met at the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin a ride home. He lead her into a forest preserve and a co-conspirator pulled a gun on her. Both were charged with attempted armed robbery.

As Summit and Country Club Hills each rival one another for the state's final casino license, predicting an economic turnaround boosted by slot machines and blackjack tables, the Chicago-region suburbs that currently have gaming in town have a good status to explain the hidden prices of hitting the jackpot.

If casino arrives, agreement SD 206 in - 2004-02-15
Bloom Township High School District 206 has partnered with an increasing list of areas that back Country Club Hills' application for the state's 10th and last casino license.

Meanwhile, Homewood School District 153 officials say they are contemplating a similar motion but not until they examine the proposal a little more.
Even if the district does not authorize a resolution supporting the casino complex, it is still entitled to its fraction revenue, Mitchell stated.
