Government takes closer look at purchase of hotel-casino at Hoover Dam - 2004-02-16
The federal government would like to purchase and shut down a hotel-casino adjacent to Hoover Dam with cash earmarked for the selling of environmentally sensitive lands, and the owners say they may be open to the sale.

Dave Belding, co-owner of the 17-floor, 375-room hotel-casino, stated that he and his partners started to contemplate selling the Hacienda over a year ago. He explained that they determined the National Park Service could have the primary opportunity buy because of the hotel's long relations to the agency.
