Government Agency May Purchase Hacienda For Property - 2004-02-17
In a community anchored on gaming, it's not unusual for a casino to exchange hands. But when the possible buyer is the federal government, that stirs things up. The property at hand is the Hacienda Hotel-Casino on U.S. 93. News 3' Denise Rosch reports it's a safe gamble the feds aren't interested in keeping the slots.

The Park Service has been trying to purchase the Hacienda property for years. The owners currently seem open to placing the property on the market.

Police looking for three suspects in robbery - 2004-02-17
Police were searching for two men and a woman who made an unsuccessful attempt to rob a visitor at a downtown motel Monday morning.

He notified the men he would have to go to a casino to get cash, and they escorted him. After he did not succeed in obtaining money, the suspects argued in the man’s room prior to him escaping.
Police cordoned the area but could not find the suspects who had escaped to the Sands Regency.
