With $10,000 in her bank account from casino winnings and her 35th birthday just behind her, Yolanda Lattimore was tempted to splurge and treat herself on Monday at DeSantis Chevrolet in Brockton.

"I got lucky," the Dorchester woman shared about a recent journey to Foxwoods casino in Connecticut, while drinking a Dunkin' Donuts coffee in the car dealership parking lot at 1555 Main St.

Government could purchase hotel-casino land - 2004-02-17
If the federal government gets their way, they will purchase and close a hotel-casino close to Hoover Dam with money earmarked for the purchase of environmentally sensitive properties. The owners are hinting that they'll be willing to sell.

The hotel-casino is on the BLM's proposed list for lands to be bought with money generated by the auction of federal land around Las Vegas. The list includes roughly 37,900 acres valued at exactly $94.4 million, mostly in the northern part of Nevada.
