Vegas tourists spending less - 2004-02-17
While gaming operators may be optimistic over the most recent gaming revenue and tourism statistics, the newly-disclosed Las Vegas Visitor Profile Study proves that tourists are spending less cash in and outside casinos.

Many tourism officials and casino operators have sloughed off tourists’ fondness for gambling less by citing more interest in shopping, in particular high end shopping. But the figures don’t indicate that wort of mentality.

Laughlin continues snatching strong share of casino action - 2004-02-17
Casinos in Laughlin received $552.1 million from gamblers in 2003, about as much as they did in 2002, according to figures just disclosed by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Last year's performance is an indication that Laughlin survived increasing rivalry from Arizona, where Indian casinos opened Nevada-style blackjack last February.

Laughlin table-game profits slipped 2.4 percent, however. In particular, blackjack fell 5.2 percent.
