Casino's effort to seize Diaz property delayed - 2004-02-18
A casino’s effort to seize property of an ex-dealer accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in gaming chips was delayed Tuesday in civil court until after her entry of a plea next week in the criminal case.

Lawyer Scott Freeman of Reno, who represents Diaz in both the civil and criminal cases, confirmed with Judge David Gamble on Tuesday that Diaz will surrender a 2002 Audi A6 and a 2002 Sea Ray boat called Advantageous the casino is looking for.

State casinos generate $183 million in January - 2004-02-18
Louisiana’s state licensed casinos won $183 million from players in January, a rise of over 10 percent, partially stimulated by two additional slot-machine outlets at race tracks.

Gamblers lost $135.2 million at the 14 riverboat casinos, $25.8 million at Harrah’s New Orleans and $22 million at the three race-track casinos in January, state police reported Tuesday.
