Policymaker opposes state funds for busing casino employees - 2004-02-18
An eastern Connecticut policymaker wants to end a state program that pays to bus Hartford County staff members to the state's two casinos.

The state Department of Transportation pays about $400,000 to supply transportation for employees who cannot afford the daily commute from Hartford and New Britain to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

Boomtown will try to justify relocation - 2004-02-18
Attorneys from Boomtown Casino Biloxi and the casino's landlord will have to present proof to the Commission on Marine Resources why the casino should be allowed to relocate 300 yards to the west and what alternatives exist for the Back Bay resort.

In other casino-related business, the CMR declined a petition from the Gulf Islands Conservancy Inc. asking it to reconsider its vote to issue a permit for the Royal D'Iberville Casino production.
