Suit filed regarding bridge mishap - 2004-02-18
Relatives of a San Marcos man who passed away after his truck fell 140 feet from the San Diego-Coronado Bridge are suing the charter bus company they say is responsible for the accident.

The lawsuit contends that bus driver Jorge Alberto Ramirez made an illegal and unsecure lane change, provoking the tour bus to hit the pickup truck driven by 49-year-old Orlando Casinio, which then went off the bridge, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.

MTR Gaming participates in quest for Minnesota racetrack - 2004-02-18
MTR Gaming Group Inc., owner of Mountaineer Race Track in Chester, West Virginia, has signed on with Southwest Casino and Hotel Corp. to build a harness racetrack and card club in Forest Lake, Minnesota, roughly 53 miles from Canterbury Park in Shakopee.
Southwest runs casinos in Colorado and manages Indian gaming facilities in Oklahoma. When Southwest applied for its permit, the Minnesota Racing Commission expressed concern over the company’s ability to fund its $30-million proposal, but MTR Gaming’s involvement could console those concerns.
