The cards were flying and the chips were piling up at the Washington State Poker Championship when it took place at Diamond Lil's Cardroom in Renton.

But that's poker. And that's why millions of Americans are watching via television, and playing it across living room tables, at casinos and card rooms, online and even on the Microsoft campus and in a University of Washington classroom.

Community College Provides Casino Management Degree - 2004-02-19
Richard Wargo got his humble beginnings in the casino business 25 years ago, making change in a cage at Harrah's Reno for $4 at an hourly.

He's moved up and on since then, working in international gaming rooms, landing in 2000 at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage. He is now one of six compliance officers at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio.
