Jury out on Sky City's Darwin acquisition - 2004-02-19
Sky City Entertainment's acquisition of the MGM Darwin casino has trade observers split, with some applauding it and others saying the money would have been better spent elsewhere.

Goldman Sachs JB Were stated there was a high likelihood that the community gaming rebate would finish in June next year. That would reduce the casino's ebitda (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation), running at roughly $A25 million annually, by $A4 million.

Vote: Ho-Chunk won't quit on casino quest - 2004-02-19
The Ho-Chunk Nation's search for a site for its fourth Wisconsin casino will go on even though constituents resoundingly declined the tribe's plan to construct the facility in Madison, tribal officials said Wednesday.

The tribe has a list of other communities where the casino project could go next, Ho-Chunk business director Jim Webster explained.
