Flores appointed as commissioner - 2004-02-19
A resident real estate agent will become the city's latest planning commissioner.
The City Council has hired Diane Flores to fill the vacated seat on the city Planning Commission, which approves new developments brought to Barstow.

The Chemehuevis have deliberated plans for a casino in Barstow in the past, but the city has been working with an unrelated tribe and developer on different plans for a casino close to the outlet malls at Interstate 15 and Lenwood Road.

Officials promise to keep Bradley central - 2004-02-19
Despite a dispute swirling around the Bradley Center's future downtown, there is no possiblity of its sale or that the Marquette men's basketball team will be left out in the cold, according to a Bradley Center spokesperson.

The Wisconsin Center District suggested plans to sell the Bradley Center to the Forest County Potawatomi as a downtown casino and constructing a new sports arena close to the Midwest Airlines Center.
