St. Louis Casino May See A Fine for Favoring Rapper - 2004-02-20
Some report special treatment for the rapper Nelly may cost a St. Louis casino $50,000.
The Missouri Gaming Commission proposed the fine Thursday for the President Casino on the Admiral, which presented a private, late-night birthday party for Nelly last November.

State regulators say the casino permitted Nelly -- whose actual name is Cornell Haynes Jr. -- and his eight-person entourage to go into the casino without first getting the required electronic identification cards that restrict the sum money patrons can wager.

Alliance in agreement with software company - 2004-02-20
Alliance Gaming Corp. of Las Vegas has agreed to buy the assets of MindPlay LLC, a company that makes table game management software.
The software, currently used for blackjack games, offers pit bosses a real-time snapshot of the game by tracking wagers and each card dealt and played.

The software can notify casinos to potential card counting by locatin betting patterns, a method that has drawn criticism from some professional blackjack players.
