Fresno County Official Fears Environmental Effect of Casino Venture - 2004-02-20
A Caesars Entertainment casino in the Friant-Auberry region would lure more tourists and workers, resulting in additional traffic and air pollution in an area with insufficient sewer and water systems, a Fresno County official reports.
The $200 million casino -- with a 250- to 300-room hotel, over 75,000 square feet of gaming space, 2,000 slot machines, 20 gaming tables, retail and entertainment -- would be the biggest in the central San Joaquin Valley.
The new casino will be roughly a mile from Table Mountain Casino in Friant, he stated.
