Pompano Beach Company Permitted by Judge to Acquire Bankrupt Casino Firm - 2004-02-21
A bankruptcy judge on Friday authorized the sale of SunCruz Casinos' assets to a group that features the nephew of Gus Boulis, the Dania Beach company's late founder.

Judge Paul G. Hyman Jr. OK'd the $36.1 million purchase to Pompano Beach's Oceans Casinos and Vessel Casinos even though a pair of investors who attended the bankruptcy court hearing in West Palm Beach claimed they were willing to pay $43.2 million.

The casino is suspected of breaching 10 separate rules so that Nelly could have a particularly good time at his birthday party, which took place at the President Casino in Jefferson City, MO.
