Capri casino comply with request; Boonville Taps run dry in - 2004-02-21
The poker chips stayed in play all day yesterday at the Isle of Capri casino, but by nightfall clean drinking water was the most valuable commodity.

At 6:30 p.m., Boonville municipal health inspectors began informing businesses to turn off their water, reported George Xufuris, owner of the Palace Restaurant on Main Street downtown.
Managers at the Isle of Capri around the corner from the restaurant chose to close all three casino restaurants last night at 7 p.m., fearing a lack of clean water would breach city health codes, stated January Friedrich, a supervisor at the casino’s Calypso Restaurant.

Casino hotel growth sluggish but constant - 2004-02-21
Two months after it debuted, the $16 million Little Creek Casino Hotel is roughly half full on average.
And that's just fine so far with general manager Doug Boon, who notes that two recent weekends were sold out with gamblers.

The Squaxin Island tribe constructed the adjoining 92-room hotel to complement its casino, which launched in 1995. The tribe's hope is that the hotel will add to the $20 million in direct and indirect annual earnings from the casino with proceeds from guests, assemblies and convention business.
