Video-poker machines ought to be contraband in Georgia.
But despite a July 2002 legislation aimed at prohibiting the machines, the games in the past year have started popping up across the state. As recently as November in Hart County, sheriff's deputies confiscated 10 video-poker machines and about $13,000 in cash.
The 2002 Georgia legislation barred any commercial video machine - poker, keno, blackjack or other card game or spinning "line-up" games - based on chance, not skill.
