Joe, Phil, and Gavin Maloof, owners of the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association, moved into another sports arena recently with three-year-old King Palm, whose name was conjured up based on a blend of their basketball team and their Las Vegas casino The Palms.

Though King Palm, a son of Halo’s Image, finished sixth in his first beginning, a maiden special weight at Santa Anita Park on February 16, his inauspicious launch did not lessen the family’s excitement for racehorse ownership.

Casino could provide funds to enhance Hesperia - 2004-02-22
I wonder if the constituents in Hesperia (especially the ones who presently are inclined to vote against the casino) have really pondered about the facts and the future of our young city.

Our great city is destitute. We cannot fix the streets (even though we are spending $2 million a year repairing them). Presently, we solely have 24 paid patrol officers. It is a known fact that you should have one officer for every 1,000 locals.
