Gambling measure still suspended - 2004-02-23
Last summer, the state House and Senate passed different bills authorizing slot machines, but when legislators were set to vote on final legislation in December, legislative leaders got cold feet.

"It fell apart because of Indian casino gambling," explained state Rep. Daylin Leach, D-149 Dist.
At the 11th hour, Sen. Vincent Fumo, D-Phila., quashed the vote, worrying that if Pennsylvania omitted the possibility of a future American Indian-run casino, the state stood to lose any of that revenue.

10,000 tickets purchased for Marlins game - 2004-02-23
Fans still wanting to be in the stands for the Albuquerque Isotopes April 4 exhibition game against the world champion Florida Marlins can do so even after the team sold close to 10,000 tickets within 45 minutes on Saturday.

The game will be played at Isotopes Park and is being endorsed by Sandia Casino with all tickets to game, including box, reserved, berm, picnic area, and standing room at a cost of $15.
