Missouri Measure Taps Casino Profit - 2004-02-23
After a fight that divided Missouri universities, two Columbia legislators are hoping to change the subject.

Rep. Chuck Graham and Rep. Jeff Harris, both Democrats, this week introduced a bill that aims to supply new funding to all public universities by tapping casinos and people who work in Missouri but live in other states.

Washington Casino Growth Sluggish but Constant - 2004-02-23
Two months after it launched, the $16 million Little Creek Casino Hotel is roughly half full on average.
And that's just fine so far with general manager Doug Boon, who mentions that two recent weekends were sold out with gamblers.

The Squaxin Island tribe constructed the adjoining 92-room hotel to complement its casino, which launched in 1995. The tribe's anticipation is that the hotel will add to the $20 million in direct and indirect annual earnings from the casino with proceeds from guests, assemblies and convention business.
