Rep. Wants Indian Affairs Bureau Investigation - 2004-02-24
A congressman on Monday called on the government to investigate what he deemed "shocking" alleged conflicts of interest by the regional office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The tribe's new leadership has been granted $1.9 million from the state's Tribal Revenue Sharing Trust Fund, and is strongly pushing for the establishment of a $100 million, 2,000-slot machine casino in Plymouth, in one of California's fast-growing wine regions, a casino that could garner an estimated $185 million annually.

Indian Affairs staff participate in ranks of tribe urging for casinos - 2004-02-24
An American Indian tribe, once tiny and almost destitute, is stongly urging to build a $100 million casino -- but it's not traditional tribal members gunning for wealth.

In Washington, the Bureau of Indian Affairs depended upon the tribal election committee's ruling to decline to investigate its own staff members' involvement.
