Bureau of Indian Affairs subject to investigation - 2004-02-25
The Interior Department and Congress' General Accounting Office stated Tuesday they are initiating probes into suspected conflicts of interest including officials of the regional office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
As a result, original tribal associates have no representatives among the tribe's new leadership, which now is looking to establish a $100 million, 2,000-slot machine casino in Plymouth, in one of California's fast-growing wine areas.
