New Hollywood, Fla., Hotel-Casino Has 3,000 Jobs to Fill - 2004-02-25
While the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino draws nearer to its scheduled April debut, Hollywood tribal leaders are seeking to hire thousands of South Florida employees to help run the place.
The tribe is expecting to fill some 3,000 positions that will be granted at a three-day job fair beginning Thursday. Positions will range from cooks and card dealers to hotel employees, hosts and hostesses.
"People with casino experience from other states are inquiring. But our goal is to predominately hire from the local marketplace," he explained.

Amarillo, Texas, Court Reverses Eight-Liner Seizures - 2004-02-25
An Amarillo appeals court has reversed the seizure of 97 eight-liners and over $24,000 in two separate cases, but Potter County expects to appeal the ruling.
The county, he stated, plans to file a notice for rehearing with the appeals court later this week.

Eight-liners are devices comparable to casino-style slot machines.
The case was a result of a seizure of machines and cash from the establishment, on Dec. 12, 2001.
