New Casino expectations dissipating - 2004-02-25
As a key gambling debate looms, the top Republican in the Iowa House stated Tuesday that prospects are dissolving for communities that staked their development hopes on new casinos.

He said expansion is “in trouble” as legislators ready to debate potentially far-reaching gambling legislation Thursday. The bill as written would permit up to five new casino licenses, remove a requirement that riverboats cruise 100 days annually and allow table games like craps, blackjack and roulette at dog and horse tracks.

Casino manager found guilty in computer crimes - 2004-02-25
A Delia man was found guilty of computer crimes in association with possession of confidential computer files from a previous employer, Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline declared today.

Joseph P. "Zeke" Rupnick, 41, was convicted on one felony count of computer crime and two counts of misdemeanor computer trespassing crimes in Brown County District Court. Rupnick is on leave as acting general manager of Sac and Fox Casino, Kline reported.
