Father-Son Team Capitalizes On Poker Phenomenon - 2004-02-26
Their business has only been in operation since January, but the father-son team of Barry and Matt Dodd have more stars in their eyes than the Las Vegas Strip.
The Dodds have just launched Casino Dealers Academy, a disheveled little shop Vista Way that claims eight weeks of training at $800 to become a certified card dealer.

A storefront sign reminds passers-by in big letters that dealers can generate $50,000 in starting salaries.

Tribal leaders commanded to slash big spending - 2004-02-26
As Florida Seminole Tribe leaders ready to launch two giant casinos, the federal government has come to the reservation to send a cautionary message: You're going to have to be more frugal.

But the 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act does give the National Indian Gaming Commission the right to close Indian casinos, or levy fines, if leaders don't prove the cash is being spent for the whole tribe's benefit.
