In spite of flat room fees and tepid leisure travel demand, big Strip hotel-casinos are successfully squeezing ever-higher profits per room, a Fulcrum Global Partners report released this week cited.

University of Nevada, Las Vegas professor and casino trade professional Bill Thompson stated that the new emphasis on hotel operations and room revenues is crucial to the community, because it assists in stabilizing the local economy.

Wynn insists rule modifications will advance Chinese casino - 2004-02-26
Recent developments make it clear that Wynn Resorts will soon start building its Wynn Macau resort, Steve Wynn stated Wednesday.
The regulations that will permit Macau casinos to grant credit and to lower their total taxable winnings by the total of uncollectible casino debt are certain to be enacted, he stated.

"The executive committee (of Macau's legislature) passed it out without opposition," claimed Wynn, who anticipates the rule changes will be enacted within a couple of weeks.
