Minor profit increase for casino proprietor - 2004-02-26
Casino operator Sky City Entertainment Group has shown a 4% increase in first half net profit.

The top 10 company showed a net profit of $55.1 million for the six months to December 31 comparable to $52.8 million a year earlier before non-recurring items.

The company stated revenue rose 6% on the previous corresponding period with core earnings up 8%.

Kerry Packer's Publishing & Broadcasting Ltd has been a huge winner from last year's rebound in advertising and consumer spending.

The proprietor of Australia's top rating television network and the country's largest casino yesterday showed a 46 percent increase in net profit to $273.8 million for the six months to December 31.
