Cleveland contemplating casino gambling in downtown area - 2004-02-27
Cleveland's business and political official may be getting prepared to push for a gambling casino downtown.
It's still a long shot, but developers and politicians may be getting prepared to roll the dice, expecting a big payoff.

The Catholic Church was a big foe of casinos, but some feel the church's scandals and problems now would give its voice less credibility.

Casino to include Trot Line, gambling, prizes - 2004-02-27
The Student Alumni Association will present its annual scholarship fundraising affair, Capstone Casino, from 8 tonight to 1 a.m. Saturday in the Ferguson Center Ballroom.

Students will have access to 45 blackjack tables and can also partake in craps, stud poker, roulette and wheel of fortune. With a $20 ticket purchase, students will get $25,000 worth of gambling chips, which they may spend during the night, and they will be eligible for door prizes disbursed throughout the event.
