UNLV offers gambling on its curriculum - 2004-02-27
Although it is ranked the number two party school in the country, the University of Wisconsin cannot boast that it provides courses in alcohol production and gambling, as the University of Nevada in Las Vegas does.

UNLV, for instance, has offered gambling-related courses for roughly ten years, with class sizes ranging from a handful to 75 students. Courses in casino studies center mostly on the sociological elements of gambling.

House says no to new gambling licenses - 2004-02-27
Communities anticipating that their economic fortunes would rise on a new wave of riverboat casinos were given a setback Thursday when the Iowa House voted to block the state from granting new gaming licenses.

House members made wholesale changes in a far-reaching gaming bill that initially paved the way for five new casinos in Iowa. They declined the request for new riverboats and voted to slap a moratorium on the issuance of new gaming licenses.
