Thousands come out to apply for jobs at new casino - 2004-02-27
They arrived in suits and shorts, skirts and shirt-sleeves. They arrived from as close as Dania Beach and as far as Atlantic City, N.J. Some wanted money to pay for college and others sought health insurance for their kids.

An estimated 2,500 people attended the first day of a three-day job fair. Over 600 were hired on the spot, a casino spokesman stated. The Seminoles are expecting to find some 1,800 workers in time for a late-April debut.

The No. 2 executive and jack-of -all-trades for Las Vegas Sands proprietor Sheldon Adelson on Thursday affirmed he is resigning to commence a new company that he labeled "the right opportunity at the right time."

Most recently, he has focused his energy on the Sands' casino development in Macau.
Zarnett stated Las Vegas is ripe with development prospects that make such changes in top management at hotel-casinos probable.
