Council to deliberate on 4 liquor licenses - 2004-02-28
Today's special Borough Council meeting, called to listen to public opinion on a controversial liquor permit pursued by two new restaurants at the Municipal Harbor, will also feature comments on two other permits at the harbor that were found -- after decades of use -- to be illegal.

Borough Attorney Janice Davis Miller stated earlier this week that both the retail liquor permit held by the Shore Casino since 1970 and the club license held for the last 50 years by the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club "are not in accordance with the law."

Water officials are relaxing some drought limitations, claiming that conservation measures last year cut water use in the Las Vegas region more than intended.

Resorts like the Bellagio hotel-casino, which involves a prominent “Dancing Waters” attraction on the Las Vegas Strip, remain excluded from drought limitations because they are seen as essential to the region's tourism-based economy.
