In his successful bid for the U.S. Senate six years ago, Peter Fitzgerald's outrageous wealth was a political aberration. In this year's race to succeed him, such wealth is virtually the norm.
The financial giant among even the millionaires is Hull, an investor who is worth as much as $444 million, according to his campaign disclosure documents. He boasts a great rags-to-riches story (he earned the seed to his fortune 30 years ago in Las Vegas, card-counting at blackjack) but no political experience.
