Washoe board slashes property values for Reno casinos - 2004-02-28
Property values for the Silver Legacy Resort Casino and Circus Circus Reno casinos were cut an additional $34 million Friday, bringing the total taxable value cuts to $107 million for downtown Reno hotel-casinos for the approaching year.

In all, the board and assessor have lowered the value of casinos by $154.7 million for the coming tax year. Earlier, the assessor lowered the value of John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks from $110 million this year to $70 million in July.

Legislator file casino measures - 2004-02-28
Legislation filed yesterday would bring casino gambling to Kentucky, injecting over $430 million annually into Kentucky's anemic state budget and creating jobs, according to the bill's sponsor.

Rep. Larry Clark, D-Louis-ville, filed two bills: House Bill 636, a constitutional amendment to allow casino gambling at racetracks and elsewhere, regulated by a new Kentucky Gaming Commission; and HB 637, allowing legislation that spells out how the money would be distributed and how casinos would run.
