The introduction of a casino gambling bid - 2004-02-28
Legislation to bring casino gambling to Kentucky was brought in on Friday in both chambers of the General Assembly. Two ranking legislators immediately expressed uncertainty regarding its odds.
The legislation envisions nine casinos -- five controlled by the state's horse tracks and four independent casinos elsewhere in the state.
Backers are pursuing a two-pronged approach, in spite of what appears to be tepid endorsement in the House and Senate.
