Tribe Revives Bid for Kenosha, Wis., Casino - 2004-02-03
The rebirth of plans for a major Indian-owned casino in Kenosha could place a surprising hurdle in the path of Waukegan's bid for Illinois' last remaining casino license.

The Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin has revealed it has acquired an option to purchase Dairyland Greyhound Park, a dog-racing track 20 miles north of Waukegan where it anticipates construction of a casino that would be two or three times larger than any in Illinois.

City gambles on £250m casino venture - 2004-02-03
Under the plans, a casino, restaurants and hotel would be constructed next to the city's Meadowhall shopping centre.
Up to 6,500 jobs would be generated in the building and running of the site, run in partnership by US entertainment giant MGM Mirage and British Land.

A spokesman for MGM Mirage, which owns the famous MGM Grand casino in Las Vegas, stated: "This agreement with British Land in Sheffield is a key element of our ambitious plans to invest in the UK."
