Judge commands Boomtown relocation details - 2004-02-04
A Harrison County district judge has commanded the Commission on Marine Resources to explain an October 2002 decision that would permit Boomtown Casino to relocate 300 yards to the west.

Boomtown officials want to move the Back Bay gambling barge to gained improved exposure on Bayview Avenue and expand its parking lot. But Raphael Skrmetta, Boomtown's landlord, stated that the casino wants to move off his property to lower its rent payments by millions of dollars a year.

U.K. diplomat conducts business call on Gulf Coast - 2004-02-04
Britain's top Consul General for the Southeast paid a visit to Mobile and the Mississippi Gulf Coast this week on a mission to broaden trade and investment.

Corus Bi-Steel, another British company, has disclosed plans to construct a plant in Jackson County. Simultaneously, American firms are planting footholds in Britain. The Isle of Capri has already revealed plans to launch a casino there.
