Sugglish toursim affecting Ontario gaming - 2004-02-04
The ongoing effects of a massive tourism slowdown in southern Ontario is still in existence at Casino Niagara and Fort Erie Racetrack's gaming operation.

According to third quarter statistics disclosed by the Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corp., attendance and earnings were off, in some cases as much as 25 percent, at both Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls and Fort Erie Racetrack.

Phony 'support' letters unveiled - 2004-02-04
A set of phoney letters in defense of a $52-million casino/hotel project planned for Douglas Street is unfairly overshadowing the advantages of the proposal, its developer insists.

He said the proposal, which would need authorization of the B.C. Lottery Corp. to transfer an existing casino operating deal from Quesnel to Victoria, as well as provincial and municipal government go-aheads, would be a big boost to the city.
