Gambling interests contribute funds to PAC - 2004-02-04
A national political committee lead by Maryland Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller raised $175,000 from gambling interests in the final six months of last year, according to records revealed yesterday.

The federal inquiry is centred on $225,000 in contributions that the DLCC received in 2002 and early last year from horse-racing interests looking to legalize slot machine gambling in Maryland.

Oneida considers energy solutions for Turning Stone casino - 2004-02-04
The Oneida Indian Nation is constructing a $13 million co-generation plant to supply power to its Turning Stone casino resort after discovering what it called a modest deposit of natural gas in Madison County.

The nation stated that it has received an exploration lease for the land, which it does not own and refused to identify.
At the same time, the nation stated that it is completing construction of a co-generation central utility plant as part of its $308 million expansion at Turning Stone.
