Fabrizi mentions taxes, casino in State of City discussion - 2004-02-04
Mayor John M. Fabrizi used his State of the City address Tuesday to present his new economic development director, endorse an Indian casino and promise to lower the tax bite of property revaluation.

Fabrizi also offered support for a potential Indian casino in the city, referring to the Kent-based Schaghticoke Tribe's recent federal recognition, which permits the tribe to plan to launch a casino.

With swollen and blackened eyes and morphine shooting through his veins to numb the pain from spleen surgery and broken ribs, Chris Pitchford struggled Monday to say his vows through a feeding tube that had been inserted in his throat.

Both he and Moody, 18, had vowed the wedding would continue as planned, less than 48 hours after Pitchford, 23, shared he was beaten outside a Nevada casino at his bachelor party.
