Gambling comment difficult to understand - 2004-02-06
Demanding a "better deal for Minnesotans," Gov. Tim Pawlenty called Thursday for altering the monopoly the state's Indian tribes now have regarding casino gambling.

Pawlenty's short comments about gambling in his State of the State speech were intended to signal that he wants to severely modify the 15-year-old relationship between the state and the tribes, which run 18 casinos.

UK Casino trade goes into land grab phase.... - 2004-02-06
It is envisioned that the UK's new gambling law, when it is finally passed, will acknowledged two type of casinos.

In a recent report on the industry, UBS Warburg analyst Robin Farley, projected that the United Kingdom could assist three resort-size casinos as well as 130 regional casinos -- 30 larger casinos with up to 2,000 slots and 100 smaller halls with up to 150 slots. It is believed that Gala Group's own estimates conclude that the UK could support upwards of ten to fifteen resort-size casinos.
