Powerful opinions charge casino hearing - 2004-02-06
The seven-company wrestling match for the state's 10th casino license has officially been in existence for weeks, but it catapulted into high gear Thursday with members of the public giving their opinion on prospective bidders.

Again, however, Rosemont found itself defending against old whispers of mob taint. Citing them, the Rev. Tom Grey made a request to the gaming board to put the casino anywhere except Rosemont. A Rosemont spokesman has stated such claims have been disregarded time and time again.

7 months of good fortune leads to big Borgata development - 2004-02-06
Following seven months after its glamourous introduction to the casino scene, the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has determined it's time for more.

The casino disclosed this week it would begin formal planning on a 500,000-square-foot expansion - a 20 percent raise in the public areas of the mammoth 2,002-room, four-million-square-foot casino in the city's Marina district.
