N.J., casinos bargaining for track agreement - 2004-02-09
New Jersey's casinos are in discussions to bolster racetrack purses in exchange for a postponement on pursuing video lottery terminals at the tracks, printed in a published report.
A deal being brokered by the state would boost purses by up to $25 million annually with a deal potentially finalized by the end of this month, The Press of Atlantic City reported, citing sources knowledgeable with the negotiations.

Casino executives are worried about the slot-machine-like video lottery terminals.
