Joint venture 'staunchly' contests downtown casino - 2004-03-01
Buffalo's biggest business advocacy group is "staunchly opposed" to the construction of a casino by the Seneca Nation of Indians in downtown Buffalo.

The board listed three reasons in contesting a casino claiming it :
Is incompatible with downtown Buffalo's urban design,
Is not backed by downtown's major employers,
Will not lure out-of-town dollars to the city.

Clark's gaming measure is worthy of consideration - 2004-03-01
Like it or not, casino gambling is reproducing nationwide. Many in Kentucky support a proposal that would permit slot machines at the state's horse-racing tracks.

Under the plan, five racetracks, including Churchill Downs, would be given permits to run casino-style gambling. The other four casino licenses would go to Owensboro, a site along Interstate 75, another along Interstate 24 in Western Kentucky, and at a location that would be decided by a new gaming commission.
