The guy is young, single, wealthy. Co-owns the Sacramento Kings, who have the NBA's best record. Co-owns the Palms Casino Hotel in Vegas.
Maloof won a winner-takes-all $1 million blackjack tournament over the weekend at a casino close to San Diego.

"He's not Mr. Blackjack pro. He's just the luckiest guy in the world," described Troy Hanson, the Kings director of media relations, who watched it unfold.

Blackjacker binge ends with $1,400 payday - 2004-03-01
Going on a vacation for the weekend and coming back with more cash than when you left isn't typical for the majority of college students, but for Nate Salazar, a senior computer science major, a weekend trip to Las Vegas transformed into a $1,400 payday.

"They (the casinos) give you free drinks for a reason," Salazar stated.
